Capsicum Annuum is the better known species of Capsicum/peppers with hundred's of varieties. With sweet and hot pods , long and short, large and small pods. Plants are grown as annual's here in Canada and much of the world but can be grow as perennials in the right climates. We have had many C.Annuum Ornamental alive for over 10 years. Most if not all Capsicum Annuum will take 90 days from transplant with the slight few taking 100 -110 days for ripe pods. You can expect to have green peppers by 40-60 days and color will come within 10 - 20 days after.

We are vary Familiar with the bell pepper and the Cayenne and jalapeño but C.Annuum has many bird peppers and cross of the above. With so many to try we can only say just about them all have something great about them like very sweet or Unique flavour and or good for powders and pickling and everything else you can think of to do with them. Their heat is on the low side for the most part compared to the other subspecies with SHU between 500-80,000. With most being under 10,000 SHU or no heat sweet.
