Capsicum Baccatum Spieces is a some what lesser known Subspieces. But is one of the best flavoured. C.Baccatum are berry like and come with low to medium heat or 1000-80,000 SHU. This is our favourited subspecies to make powder with. Here are some pictures if common C.Baccatum flowers
With this subspecies you can expect plants to take a little longer to mature with the average being 110 days from transplant. You will start to see green peppers, if that is the starting color of that variety, around 60- 90 days and to be fully ripe by 110 - 120 Days. There are some varieties that will ripen a little sooner and you could see ripe pods around 100-110 days.
All pods from C.Baccatum varieties are very sweet with a fruity flavor. A must try species if you have not tried already. Most have heat with just a couple that have very low heat like AJi Santa Cruz with a SHU under 3000 and AJi Dedo Red and Yellow with a SHU as low as 500-1000
The rest have heat in and around 10,000-30,000 SHU
